The City of Pell City Planning and Zoning Department is staffed by the following employees:

The Planning and Zoning Department is always ready and willing to assist the Citizens of Pell City, developers, engineers, and additional City Departments when needed. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with all current building codes, city ordinances, Land Use Regulations, and Subdivision Regulations. In addition, they conduct plan reviews, provide zoning and building code information and as well as issue permits. Additionally, the department coordinates inspections of properties under construction for code compliance, investigates public nuisance complaints, and ensures zoning compliance. The City of Pell City strongly suggests that you contact the Planning & Zoning Department prior to purchasing property or beginning construction of any type to ensure you will be in compliance with all ordinances and regulations.
ADDRESSING: The addressing data for the City Limits of Pell City is maintained by the Planning and Zoning Department. New addresses are issued from this office at the request of the property owner or when necessary.
SUBDIVISION RULES & REGULATIONS: The Planning & Zoning Department has adopted Subdivision Rules and Regulations, which should be adhered to regarding any development.
LAND USE REGULATIONS: The Planning & Zoning Department has adopted Land Use Regulations, which are enforced by the Planning & Zoning Department Staff. These regulations provide information for uses allowed; conditional uses, which would be considered on a case by case basis by the Planning Commission, as well has provides a path for a variance when necessary. In addition to Land Use the regulations also set forth the rules and regulations for signage. Prior to purchase and/or installation of any sign, please contact the Planning & Zoning Department for review, approval, and proper permitting.
