The City of Pell City is pleased to announce the implementation of the Fire and Life Safety Inspection Program. Pell City Fire personnel will begin performing Fire and Life Safety Inspections on all businesses with store fronts within the city limits beginning in January 2020. These inspections will provide invaluable information to our firefighters in case of an emergency at your business as well as making sure that your business is operated as safely as possible under the Life Safety Code. These inspections also help us keep our ISO score low which in turn keeps the cost of Fire Insurance in the city lower.
To aid in this process, all business owners/managers are asked to fill out the form below so that we can update our emergency contact list. We have also provided a self-assessment checklist that covers many of the common issues we find in our inspections. This form will allow you to correct these issues and decrease the time it takes to complete the inspection.
There are no fees associated with the Fire and Life Safety Program. Inspection times vary depending on the size of the business, but usually take less than an hour to complete.
