The Pell City Board of Zoning Adjustments (BZA) hears and decides on appeals concerning the enforcement of zoning ordinances. Their primary functions include granting variances (allowing deviations from zoning rules due to hardship) and special exceptions (permitting uses specifically allowed with certain conditions), ensuring flexibility in zoning while upholding the overall intent of the city’s zoning regulations.

The Jefferson, Blount, St. Clair (JBS) Mental Health Authority Board is the governing body for the JBS Mental Health Authority, a regional public non-profit corporation.
