IMPORTANT NOTICE

Please be advised that Municipal Court for the City of Pell City scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2024, has been cancelled.  These cases will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 2:00 pm.  Please see the payment options below to make a payment. 

 

Payment Options for Traffic Citation:

Traffic Violations

There are two types of traffic citations as described below:

Court Appearance Not Required Citation – If you have received this type citation and would like to resolve the ticket without appearing in court, you may do so by appearing in-person at the court office and entering a plea of guilt, or you may refer to the payment options above.

You may also remit your plea & payment by mail: We must receive your plea and payment within our Municipal Court office on or before your prescribed court date – postmarked dates will not be honored as meeting the deadline! You may mail your pleas and payment in full to:

If you do not want to plead guilty to the citation, you must appear on your court date to enter a plea before the Judge. 

Court Appearance Required Citations – If your citation requires a court appearance, you MUST appear in court on the date listed on your citation. You will appear before the municipal judge and enter a plea on the charge.

Non-Traffic Offenses

If you have been arrested for a non-traffic offense, you MUST APPEAR IN COURT on your court date.

If you have an outstanding warrant, you must turn your self into the Pell City Police Department or the Municipal Court and post the appropriate bond that has been set. If you have any question concerning a warrant you may contact  the Pell City Police Department (205) 884-3334.

How to Obtain a Warrant

  • Complete and Submit Deposition Form
  • This form can be found clicking on pell-city.com 
  • Complete all information (you must include your phone number and an alternate contact number)
  • E-mail the completed Deposition Form to court@cityofpellcity.net, fax a copy to 205-338-7502, or place your deposition and police report in an envelope in the drop box (located in the parking lot East of City Hall).
  • Once received, the Court Officials will read the deposition and police report to determine if there is enough probable cause to issue a warrant.  If there is enough probable cause a Court Official will make contact with you.

Tuesday Court office will close at 12 noon and re-open in the Court Chamber at 2:00 p.m.


All traffic cases and misdemeanors are heard in the municipal court at City Hall. Court meets on Tuesday and begins at 2:00 pm. The courtroom is located at City Hall in the Council Chambers.

Traffic citations may be paid by 5:00 pm in the office of the Clerk of the Municipal Court which is located on the ground floor of City Hall. Such payments must be made the day before the case is scheduled to be heard by the Court.
