Ivi McDaniel, Councilmember District 2

Ivi earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Jacksonville State University in 2002. In 2012 she became a Substance Abuse Counselor, Certified by the State of Alabama, and is currently a Board member of Alabama Association for Alcoholism and Drug Counselors. Having successfully worked as Counselor, Instructor, and Case Manager in programs such as New Pathways, Jefferson County Drug Court, St. Clair County Day Program, The Wellhouse, Fresh Start Recovery Ministries, and others, she felt compelled to do more.  It is Ivi’s passion and heart’s desire to see those who have suffered, one day walk in the freedom that God has ordained for them. She has an extensive history of working with women, men, and adolescents who struggle with abuse of every kind. Most recently she has embraced young women that are survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.  Ivi also works as a counselor for Fresh Start Recovery Ministries, a male long-term recovery facility and is the director of We Win Recovery.  She has dedicated her life to helping others find freedom and strength.
